FP Markets review for signal traders: Raw, gold, MT4 and MT5

FP Markets prints more cost figures than most brokers: a typical EUR/USD and gold spread for both accounts, a $3 a side commission, and an Islamic account with the admin fee written out per symbol. It also runs its international site from a Saint Lucia company with no regulator stated, while the regulated companies sit in the footer. Both facts matter to a signal follower, and both are below with the page named for each figure. Forexero has no partnership with FP Markets.

Who you are actually signing with

FP Markets says it was founded in 2005 in Sydney. The regulation page states that fpmarkets.com is operated by FP Markets Ltd, registered in Saint Lucia under number 2025-00853, which "provides services globally". No regulator is stated for that company. The footer lists the regulated ones:

  • First Prudential Markets Limited: regulated by the Financial Services Authority of Seychelles, licence SD130.
  • First Prudential Markets Pty Ltd: ASIC regulated, AFS licence 286354, listed on the Australian site.
  • FP Markets (Pty) Ltd: authorised by South Africa's FSCA, FSP 50926.
  • First Prudential Markets Ltd (Cyprus): CySEC licence 371/18, through fpmarkets.eu, which is "not directed at residents of the United States, Canada and Belgium".

A Cyprus company called Tominus Ltd appears on the same page with no regulator or role stated. No UK entity is named. Which footer company contracts an international client is not stated: the first question for support.

The international site does not serve the United States or the European Economic Area. On negative balance protection the FAQ says "Yes, we offer Negative Balance Protection", without naming the entity.

The accounts, as published

AccountMinimum depositSpread fromCommissionPlatforms named
Standardnot stated on this page1.0 pips$0MT4, MT5, cTrader
Rawnot stated on this page0.0 pipsUS$3 a side (FAQ: 6 USD round turn)MT4, MT5, cTrader, TradingView

Both state 1:500 maximum leverage and a 0.01 minimum lot. The minimum deposit appears three ways: the account overview says "as little as $100", the FAQ says there is no minimum and it depends on the payment method, and the Islamic page says US$100.

Raw is the account for a signal follower, and the broker's own figures finish the sum. EUR/USD moves $10 a pip per standard lot, so $6 round turn is 0.6 pips. The spreads page, labelled typical and variable, gives EURUSD a Standard average of 1.29 and a Raw average of 0.19, units not stated. Raw at 0.19 plus 0.6 comes to about 0.79 against Standard's 1.29, roughly half a pip in Raw's favour on the broker's own averages. On a 0.01-lot trade the commission is $0.06 round turn.

The FAQ states leverage "from 1:1 up to 1:500"; the EU site shows 1:30; the Australian figure is not stated. For a member risking 1% a trade the lot from the stop is what matters, and our position sizing guide shows that 1:500 changes the margin, not the risk.

Gold, MT4 and MT5

Gold is on both, with a stated preference: the metals page says MT4 is recommended for metals and that they "can also be traded on MT5 and cTrader". One lot of XAU/USD is 100 oz, with leverage up to 500:1 on Raw. The gold figures, in the same unlabelled units: Standard average 0.24; Raw minimum 0.05 and average 0.10, with the US$3 a side commission on top.

On a demo before going live: confirm the symbol name, since the copier maps our XAUUSD to the broker's exact string and suffixes vary; read the spread between 22:00 and 01:00 UK time, which the averages above do not describe; and note the swap, or the Islamic fee below.

Swap-free

FP Markets offers Islamic Standard and Islamic Raw on MT4, MT5 and cTrader, "designed exclusively for Muslim traders", and may ask for a proof of faith. Minimum opening balance US$100, with the same leverage, lot size, spreads and commission as the ordinary accounts. In place of swap there is an admin fee in US dollars per lot per night, stated per symbol: EURUSD $6, GBPUSD $3, USDJPY $15, XAUUSD $50, BTCUSD $60, not tripled on Wednesday or Friday. Eight symbols, XAUUSD and EURUSD among them, get a five-night grace period; the rest get none, and the status does not apply to pairs the page does not list.

The gold line is the one to work through. From the sixth night a one-lot gold position costs $50 a night, a 0.01-lot position $0.50. A signal that runs fourteen nights pays on nine of them; one that closes inside five pays nothing. Our piece on swap on gold sets out what the fee replaces.

Funding and withdrawals

Deposits carry "0% Deposit fees" by the broker's statement. Methods named: bank wire, Mastercard and Visa, crypto, Neteller and Skrill, and broker-to-broker transfer, in ten base currencies. Minimums are not stated. Withdrawals go by bank wire, card, crypto, Skrill or Neteller "in one business day"; FP Markets states it charges no fee on bank wire withdrawals, and fees on the other methods are not stated.

Copy trading

The homepage invites you to "Allocate as little as $100, set risk caps" across verified strategies, and the social trading portal takes an MT4 or MT5 login. Fees are not stated. Those products mirror another account. A Telegram channel followed through a copier shows you every signal with its stop before it is placed, at your lot size, on your own MetaTrader.

What FP Markets does not publish

The regulator, if any, of the company that operates the site. Which footer entity signs an international client. One minimum deposit figure rather than three. Units on the spread tables. Australian leverage. Withdrawal fees on cards, crypto and wallets. Gaps, each answerable by support in writing before you fund.

Who FP Markets suits, from the terms alone

  • A trader who wants Raw at $6 round turn with typical spreads published, gold at 0.01 lots on MT4 or MT5, and 1:500 available.
  • A trader who needs Islamic terms with the fee schedule printed rather than promised.
  • An EEA resident, who gets the CySEC entity at 1:30 through fpmarkets.eu.

Who it suits less: anyone who wants the contracting entity named before they sign; a UK trader looking for an FCA entity; anyone in the US; and a swap-free trader who holds gold for weeks, at $50 a lot a night.
