How to copy Telegram signals to MT4 or MT5 automatically

Copying a Telegram signal channel onto MetaTrader takes about fifteen minutes to set up and one week to trust. Here are the three ways to do it, the setup step by step, and the checks that catch problems before they cost you a trade.

To copy Telegram signals to MT4 or MT5 automatically, you need three things: access to the channel, a MetaTrader account with a broker, and a copier in between that reads each new message, turns it into an order, and places it on your account with the stop loss and targets attached. The copier is the only part you choose, and the choice decides what you have to keep running.

The three ways to do it

A desktop copier. A program on your computer reads Telegram and passes signals to an expert advisor (EA) attached to a chart in MetaTrader. It works well, but only while the computer, MetaTrader and the program are all running. Laptops that sleep, Windows updates and a closed terminal all stop the copying, so most people who go this way end up renting a VPS, a remote Windows machine that stays on.

A cloud copier. The copier runs on a server and connects to your broker account directly. Nothing runs on your side; you can switch off your computer and trades still open. You give the service your trading login so it can place orders, which is why it matters what the service can and cannot do with that login.

By hand, with alerts. You turn on notifications for the channel and place each trade yourself. No setup, no software, full control, and the delay and missed messages that come with a human in the loop. Worth doing for a few weeks even if you plan to automate, so you know what the copier is supposed to be doing.

Setting up a cloud copier in six steps

The steps below follow our own copier, but any serious cloud copier asks for the same things in roughly the same order.

  1. Join the channel on Telegram first. A copier can only read channels your Telegram account is a member of. If you left the channel, or the invite expired, the copier sees nothing.
  2. Connect the trading account. Choose MT4 or MT5, then enter the broker's server name, your account number and the trading password. The investor password is read-only, so an account connected with it cannot place orders. The server name is in the email your broker sent when the account was opened, and in MetaTrader under File, Login.
  3. Pick the channel. New channels should start in test mode: the copier reads and parses each signal and shows you what it would have placed, without trading. Leave it there for a few signals.
  4. Set the sizing. Either a fixed lot or a percentage of the account per signal. Percentage sizing means a signal with a wide stop gets a smaller lot and one with a tight stop a larger one, so the money at risk stays the same. The position sizing guide shows the arithmetic the copier is doing.
  5. Set the management. How the position is split across TP1, TP2 and TP3, whether the stop moves to entry after TP1, and what happens to signals the channel marks as high risk. These settings change results far more than the choice of copier. The take profit guide compares the common splits.
  6. Switch the channel from test to live, and watch the first trade. Check it in two places: the copier's activity log and MetaTrader itself. The lot size, the stop and every target should match what you set.

The first-week checks

Most copier problems are silent. Nothing errors on your screen; the trades simply do not appear. A short routine in the first week catches nearly all of them:

  • Compare the channel with your account once a day. Every signal in the channel should have a matching trade, a logged reason for skipping it, or a test-mode entry. A signal with none of the three is the one to ask about.
  • Look at the symbol. If your broker names gold XAUUSD.m or GOLD, the copier has to match it. A missing match usually shows as a skipped signal, not an error.
  • Check a stop and a target on a filled trade. Some brokers reject stops placed too close to the current price, which can leave a trade open with no stop at all. You want to find that out on the first trade, not the tenth.
  • Change your trading password, then check the copier. If you ever change it, the copier loses access until you reconnect. Doing it on purpose once shows you what the warning looks like.

What a copier cannot fix

A copier places exactly what the channel posts, at the size you set. It cannot make a weak channel profitable, and it cannot tell a signal that looks fine from one that is about to lose. It also copies the losses without hesitation, which is the point: a copier that skips trades by "judgement" gives you a different record from the one you chose to follow. Pick the channel on its record first, then automate it. The guide to judging a provider is the place to start.

Our copier, briefly

The Forexero Cloud Copier works with any Telegram channel you are a member of, on MT4 and MT5, with new channels starting in test mode. Your money stays with your broker: the copier can place and manage trades, and it cannot withdraw. It is a separate subscription from the signals, and it works with channels that are not ours.
