Goat Funded Trader review for signal traders: rules, copying

Goat Funded Trader allows news trading in both phases and holds the weekend open, which puts it in the small group of firms where a gold signal can run through US data unmanaged. It also bans signal services, external copying of any kind, hedging in any form and, since 6 Oct 2026, VPS use while trading. This review reads the 2 Step Standard and the models around it from goatfundedtrader.com and its help centre on 21 Oct 2026.

What Goat sells

A long list: 1 Step, 2 Step Standard, 2 Step GOAT, 2 Step PRO, 3 Step, four Instant variants, Goat Stride, GOAT Blitz, Pay Later and a GOAT $1 account, from 2.5K to 400K. The home page pricing table, under "Model type: 2-Step", shows "$438.00" and "$263" beside the 100K account without saying which is list and which discounted.

The objectives, as published

The static floor is $90,000 on $100,000. Two funded rules sit outside the table: 3 profitable days per payout, 4 for accounts from 25 Jul 2026, and a maximum daily profit of $3,000, with the excess deducted. A strong gold day on $100K can clear that cap in one trade.

The copying rule

The trading rules page states: "Signal services and copying trades from other people are not permitted". Own-account copying is allowed only through the GOAT Trade Copier in the dashboard, from 12 Oct 2026; "Copying trades from an external account is not allowed, even if the external account is your own". Trade copier EAs count as third-party EAs, "not allowed at any time". From 6 Oct 2026, "VPNs, VPSs, proxies and any other hosting service are not allowed during trading". Hedging is "strictly prohibited".

A Telegram-to-MT5 copier fails on three counts, signal service, external source and third-party EA, and the VPS clause catches its machine. Placing a signal by hand on your own account is not addressed by the cited rules either way, and absence of a named ban is not permission; if you intend to trade signals here, get the firm's written answer to that exact workflow first. The hedging ban matters to anyone following two channels: a gold buy from one and a gold sell from another, open together, is a hedge. Our guide to signals on a funded account covers this. We do not connect our copier to prop accounts.

News, on evaluation and on funded

"Trading during news events is allowed and does not violate any Goat Funded Traders rules", in "both the challenge phase and the funded phase". One condition: profit on any trade opened or closed within 5 minutes of a red-folder release is capped at 1% of the initial balance per trade.

For a gold signal through US data this is the most open rule in our set after FundedNext. You can enter, move the stop and take profit at any point; a take-profit filled inside the window pays no more than 1% of the account. At 1% risk with a first target near one-to-one, the cap sits at about that target; on a trade run to a far target inside the window, the cap sets the profit, not the market. Weekend holding is allowed; gap trades over it are reviewed. The releases are in our sessions and news guide.

Drawdown and daily loss, in stops

At 1% a trade, the 2 Step Standard's 5% daily is five stops and its static 10% is ten from a fixed floor. The GOAT variant gives four and ten, the PRO four and eight, the 1 Step four (three from 1 Aug 2026) and six, all static. Instant GOAT trails at 6% with a 15% consistency rule. Between the 5% daily and the $3,000 profit cap, the Standard is built for a steady flow of trades rather than one large one; size to the daily limit, not the account.

Gold, platforms and leverage

Platforms are cTrader, TradeLocker, MatchTrader, Volumetrica and MT5, with MT5 and cTrader "not available to clients located in the USA". Leverage is stated by stage, evaluation then funded: forex 1:100 then 1:50; indices and commodities 1:20 then 1:10; crypto 1:2; stocks 1:5. Gold is not listed separately. Commission is $5 per lot on FX and metals. No maximum lot size is stated; more than 80% of margin on one idea is "gambling-style".

Payouts, split and refund

"Traders receive 80% of their profits" on the 1-Step, 2-Step Standard, PRO and GOAT, with a 100% split as an add-on. Payouts run "every 14 days" after the first trade, the first two capped at 6% of the initial size or $10,000, processed "within 2 business days", with a $100 minimum and a 3% fee on every reward. The fee is refunded "When you receive your fourth payout on an account"; the home page calls it a "One-time 100% refundable fee" and the terms say "There are no refunds on any Services", so the fourth-payout refund is the only one.

Broker, entity, countries

No broker or liquidity provider is named beyond "the Brokers it uses". The entities are Goat Funded LTD, Saint Lucia, company 2025-00240; Wishes Tower International Limited, Hong Kong, company 76428795; and Odeonpay ALE S.R.L. (Paysagi) as merchant of record. No excluded-country list appears on the pages we read; the site says "Available in 182+ Countries".

What Goat does not publish

Which 100K price is the list price, a time limit, minimum days for GOAT, PRO and 1 Step, a gold leverage line, a maximum lot size, the brokers, and a country list.

Who it suits, from the rules alone

A manual signal trader whose gold signals run through US data, who takes one direction at a time, and who accepts a $3,000 daily profit cap and a 3% fee on each payout. It suits less anyone following two channels that may disagree on gold, anyone running anything on a VPS, and anyone who wanted an earlier fee refund. The other nine are in our prop firm rules roundup.

Rules were read on 21 Oct 2026 and change often.
