IC Markets review for signal traders: accounts, gold, MT4, MT5

The broker most people still call IC Markets now calls itself IC, at ic.com, and the terms a signal follower cares about sit across three entities and two websites. We read the published pages on 21 Oct 2026 as a member would who wants gold on MT4 or MT5 and a copier on the account, with the page named for each figure. We have no partnership with IC.

icmarkets.com now redirects to ic.com, and the regulation page says "IC and IC Markets Global are the trading names of Raw Trading Ltd". The brand has changed; the contracting company named on the page has not.

Who you are actually signing with

  • International: Raw Trading Ltd, registered in Seychelles (8419879-1), regulated by the Financial Services Authority of Seychelles, Securities Dealer licence SD018. The FSA's own search lists the company without a licence number, so SD018 is IC's figure.
  • EU: IC Markets (EU) Ltd, Cyprus company HE 356877, CySEC licence 362/18, through icmarkets.eu.
  • Australia: International Capital Markets Pty Ltd, AFSL 335 692, named in a Target Market Determination dated April 2024. The Australian addresses redirect to ic.com, so we read no live Australian page.
  • UK: no FCA entity is named on any IC page we read.

The international site does not serve the United States, Canada, Iran or North Korea; the help centre says "No, IC does not accept US clients."

The international help centre states: "You will be responsible for any negative balance in your trading account." The Australian document says the opposite for its clients, and the EU pages we read say nothing either way. With 1:5000 on majors and 1:2000 on gold at the international entity, that line carries more weight than it would at 30:1.

The accounts, as published

AccountMinimum depositSpread fromCommissionPlatforms named

Raw Spread (cTrader)$00 pips$3.00 per USD 100kcTrader, TradingView
Standard (MetaTrader)$00.8 pips$0MT4, MT5

The help centre says both that there is no minimum deposit and that institutional grade pricing starts "with a deposit of as little as $200".

For a signal follower on MetaTrader the choice is Raw Spread or Standard. EUR/USD moves $10 a pip per standard lot, so a $7 round turn is 0.7 pips. IC's Raw Spread page states an average EUR/USD spread of 0.1 pips, which puts the all-in cost near 0.8 pips, and 0.8 is where the Standard page says its spread starts. On the published figures the two are close on EUR/USD; one number is an average and the other a floor, so a week on two demos settles it. The spreads table carries no units and its EURUSD row does not match that 0.1 average, so we leaned on the account page.

Stop out is 50% on all three accounts. Leverage is tiered by position size and described as dynamic: majors at 1:5000 up to 25 lots, down to 1:500 above 100 lots. The EU entity publishes the same $7 round turn and the same 0.8 pip Standard floor at 1:30. At 1% risk a trade none of that leverage is needed; the position sizing guide shows why the lot, not the leverage, decides what a stop costs.

Gold, MT4 and MT5

Gold is on both platforms. The gold page names MetaTrader 5 and MetaTrader 4, the MT4 page states that "IC MetaTrader 4 and 5 platforms have no restrictions on trading", and XAUUSD appears under Metal in the swap-free fee table. The gold page states leverage up to 1:2000 and a 0.01 minimum lot. The spreads table gives XAUUSD on Raw Spread a minimum of 0.05 and an average of 0.09, and on Standard a minimum of 0.1, with no units and no Standard average.

Check three things on a demo before going live: the symbol name, since brokers call gold different things and the copier needs the exact one; the spread between 22:00 and 01:00 UK time, when a running trade is still open; and the swap, or on a swap-free account the holding fee below.

Swap-free

Offered on Raw Spread and Standard, on MT4, MT5 and cTrader. Instead of swap, "any trades open overnight will be charged a flat rate holding fee", listed in US dollars per lot: EURUSD 11, GBPTRY 130. XAUUSD is in the table but we could not capture its figure, so ask support before holding gold overnight. There are up to five grace days, a triple-swap night counts as three, and the energy symbols get none. Our piece on swap on gold explains what a flat fee does to a hold of a few nights against a few weeks.

Funding and withdrawals

IC states it charges no additional fees for deposits or withdrawals; intermediary bank fees may apply. Cards, PayPal, Neteller, Skrill and crypto (BTC, ETH, USDC, USDT) deposit instantly; wire takes 2 to 5 business days; minimums are not stated. Withdrawals: local bank 1 to 2 business days, international 2 to 14; cards 3 to 5, as a refund of the original deposit; crypto up to 2 hours.

Copy trading

cTrader Copy, ZuluTrade, Signal Start and IC Social are listed; fees and minimums are not. Each mirrors a strategy, with as much or as little reasoning as its provider shares. Our copier does something else: it places a Telegram channel's signals on your own MT4 or MT5 account, at your lot size and with your stop rules, on any broker's MetaTrader, IC included.

What IC does not publish

The year founded and the head office. A UK entity. One minimum deposit figure rather than $0 on one page and $200 on another. Units on the spread tables. The gold holding fee. The EU minimum deposit. Gaps in what we could read, not red flags; a demo and a support question close most of them.

Who IC suits, from the terms alone

  • A trader on MT5 or MT4 who wants Raw Spread pricing at $7 round turn, no minimum deposit and gold at 0.01 lots.
  • An EU resident who wants the same $7 pricing under a CySEC entity at 1:30.

Who it suits less: anyone in the US or Canada; a UK trader who wants an FCA entity; and anyone who needs negative balance protection in writing from the international entity.

Figures were read from IC's pages on 21 Oct 2026 and will change.
