Octa review for signal traders: accounts, gold, MT4 and MT5

Octa, still OctaFX on many of its own URLs, is unusual in two ways a signal follower notices at once: every account is swap-free, and the company you contract with on the international site is not readable on any page we could open. This review sets out both, then goes through the accounts, the gold contract, funding and Octa Copy as the broker publishes them. Every figure is Octa's own, read on 21 Oct 2026.

Who you are actually signing with

We have to start with what we could not read. Octa's site footer, where a broker names its company, registration and regulator, is rendered by JavaScript and did not appear on any page we fetched at octafx.com or octabroker.com; the legal and company pages returned errors or were closed to our fetch. The only trace of the international company is an MT5 web terminal page titled "Octa Markets Incorporated". So the entity name, registration, regulator and address for the international site are not stated on anything we could open. That describes our reading on the day, not a finding about Octa, but you should see the company name before depositing, and here you will have to ask.

The EU side is clear from the regulator: CySEC's register lists Octa Markets Cyprus Ltd, licence 372/18, dated 10 December 2018, in Limassol. Octa's own EU pages were closed to our fetch, so EU retail terms are not recorded. No UK or Australian entity is named, and neither US residents nor negative balance protection are mentioned anywhere we read.

The accounts, as published

Octa publishes one account per platform. International site, 21 Oct 2026:

AccountMinimum depositSpread fromCommissionPlatforms named
OctaTrader$25 ($100 recommended)0.6 pips, floating, markup$0OctaTrader desktop and mobile
MetaTrader 5$25 ($100 recommended)0.6 pips, floating, markup$0MT5
MetaTrader 4$25 ($100 recommended)0.6 pips, floating, markup$0MT4

They differ by what they can trade: 77 instruments on MT4, 263 on MT5 and 104 on OctaTrader, each with gold and silver from 0.01 lots. Margin call is 25% and stop out 15%, more room before a forced close than some brokers give. A USD 5 inactivity fee is listed on the same page.

With no commission account there is no commission-to-pips arithmetic: the spread, market plus a markup in Octa's words, is the whole cost. For a signal follower the choice is MT4 or MT5, and both run our copier. A 0.6 pip spread on EUR/USD is $6 a standard lot, what a $6 round-turn commission account charges before its own spread, so Octa is competitive on majors only if the live figure stays near the minimum.

Gold, MT4 and MT5

Gold is XAUUSD, lot size 100 units, commission 0 USD, leverage 1:1000, open Monday to Friday from 10:00 pm to 9:00 pm UTC with a one-hour recess. The commodities page names OctaTrader and MetaTrader 5 as gold platforms and not MT4, but the accounts comparison lists gold among MT4's instruments, so gold is on both MetaTrader versions as published. Confirm it on an MT4 demo.

The gold spread is the number to watch. The platform listings say "Spread from: 0.6 pips" for gold, while the live table on the commodities page showed XAUUSD at 2.8 pips at the single moment we captured it. One captured quote is not a typical spread and the "from" figure is a floor, so neither tells you what you will pay; a demo during the hours you hold gold, including 22:00 to 01:00 UK time, tells you more than either; our note on gold spreads at night explains the hour. Check the symbol name at the same time.

Swap-free

Octa states that "All our accounts are swap-free, so you do not pay or receive any interest", on all three platforms, with no Islamic account to apply for; you pay "no fees or commissions, only actual market-driven spreads starting from 0.6 pips". No handling fee or holding limit is mentioned anywhere we read. For gold held several nights that is a saving, provided the markup does not take it back; our piece on swap on gold shows what a swap costs elsewhere.

Funding and withdrawals

Methods depend on region. To our fetch, deposits were Litecoin from 0.3 LTC, Dogecoin from 230 DOGE and Tether from 25 USDT, crediting in 3 to 30 minutes; MasterCard from 50 EUR, instant after verification; and two banks from 1 EUR. Withdrawals: Litecoin from 0.11 LTC, Dogecoin from 75 DOGE, Tether from 10 USDT with one to three hours to approve, Nigerian banks from 7,000 NGN, and the two banks from 1 EUR. All are free on Octa's side, crypto network fees aside. Withdrawals are processed Monday to Friday, 6 am to 10 pm EET.

Copy trading

Octa Copy pairs copiers with master traders, who can set any commission within 0% to 50% of the copier's gain. The copier, master and conditions pages returned errors for us, so copier-side fees and minimums are not recorded. It differs from following a Telegram channel with a copier in who holds the levels: on Octa Copy the master trades and you mirror, paying up to half of any gain; with a channel the entry, stop and targets are posted first and placed on your account at your lot size.

What Octa does not publish, or did not render

The international company's name, registration, regulator and address; EU retail terms; US residents; negative balance protection; any EUR/USD spread beyond "from 0.6"; Octa Copy's copier-side terms; a head office. The about page dates the company from 2011. Some are gaps in what Octa prints, others pages that did not render; close the entity question first.

Who Octa suits, from the terms alone

  • A trader who holds gold for days and wants no swap on any account, at a $25 start.
  • An MT5 user who wants the wider instrument list and 1:1000 on gold.
  • Anyone who funds in crypto and wants free deposits.

Who it suits less: anyone who wants the contracting company and its regulator printed before signing, because we could not find them; anyone who needs a raw-spread commission account, which Octa does not offer; and anyone in the US, whom the pages do not mention.
