Tickmill review for signal traders: accounts, gold, MT4 and MT5

Tickmill is one of the few brokers whose international, UK and EU account pages all rendered for us on the same day, so this review can put the three side by side. It reads the two accounts as a signal follower would, explains why the platform you choose sets your leverage, and notes what the swap-free page says about day 41. Every figure is Tickmill's own, read on 21 Oct 2026.

Who you are actually signing with

Tickmill names four client-facing companies and says which region each serves:

  • International: Tickmill Ltd, a Securities Dealer licensed by the Seychelles FSA, licence SD008.
  • UK: Tickmill UK Ltd, FCA register number 717270. The regulation page states UK clients are covered by the FSCS up to £120,000 per person.
  • EU: Tickmill Europe Ltd, a Cyprus Investment Firm under CySEC, licence 278/15, with the Investor Compensation Fund covering 90% of an eligible claim up to €20,000.
  • South Africa: Tickmill South Africa (Pty) Ltd, FSCA, FSP 49464.

No Australian entity is listed. The restricted list is explicit: Tickmill's services are "not directed at or intended for" persons in the United States, Singapore, Iran, India or Japan. The safety of funds page states that a negative account is reset to zero, then adds that protections "depend on the Tickmill entity with which a client holds an account", so ask which entity's version of that promise you get.

The accounts, as published

International site, 21 Oct 2026:

AccountMinimum depositSpread fromCommissionPlatforms named
Classic100 (USD, EUR, GBP or ZAR)1.6 pipsnoneMT4, MT5
Raw1000.0 pips$3 a lot a side ($6 round turn)MT4, MT5
TradingView Raw100 (USD)0.0 pips$3.50 a lot a side ($7 round turn)Tickmill Trader, TradingView

The UK site lists Classic and Raw at the same $100 minimum and pricing at 1:30 leverage; the EU site matches it, with 1:500 for professional clients. The international site lists 1:1000 on all three, with the platform caveat below.

A signal follower picks Raw, and the arithmetic is wide. EUR/USD moves $10 a pip per standard lot, so $6 round turn is 0.6 pips. Classic starts at 1.6 pips, so Raw would need a live EUR/USD spread above 1.0 pips before Classic caught up. The UK Raw page says commission applies only to FX and precious metals, so gold on Raw carries the $6 too. TradingView Raw runs on Tickmill Trader, not MetaTrader, so it is no route for our copier, and its $7 round turn is a dollar more a lot.

Typical EUR/USD and gold spreads sit in live tables that did not render for us.

Gold, MT4 and MT5

Gold is XAUUSD, with XAUEUR alongside, and the commodities page lists XAUUSD hours as Monday to Friday 01:02 to 23:57. The Islamic account page lists XAUUSD on Classic and Raw, which are MT4 and MT5 accounts, so gold runs on both platforms; no platform-only restriction is stated.

Read the leverage page before you pick a platform. Tickmill states that the maximum leverage available on MT4 is 1:500, while MT5, Tickmill Trader and TradingView support dynamic leverage up to 1:1000. For a signal trader at 1% risk a trade the difference is academic, but an MT4 user should know they are choosing the lower cap.

On a demo, check the symbol name on your server, the spread between 22:00 and 01:00 UK time, and the swap on gold. Gold closes for about an hour each night and the spread either side of that break is where the headline stops applying; our guide to gold spreads at night explains why.

Swap-free

Swap-free is available on all account types for eligible clients; any Classic or Raw account can be converted. Tickmill replaces swaps with handling fees, fixed per lot regardless of direction and booked as a separate balance entry at 00:00 server time. On Classic the page says handling fees "start from day 41" for named instruments including XAUUSD, so a gold trade closed before then carries no handling fee as the page describes it. The amounts did not render for us; if you hold gold for weeks, get the per-lot figure before you convert. Our note on swap on gold shows what to compare it with.

Funding and withdrawals

Tickmill states zero withdrawal fees and no deposit fees on its side. Every listed method takes $100 in and $25 out. Bank wire in USD, EUR, GBP or ZAR is processed within one working day and arrives in two to seven, with bank fees on wires of $5,000 or more reimbursed up to $100. Card withdrawals arrive in up to eight working days, Skrill and Neteller instantly, crypto in roughly 12 to 48 hours. Intermediary banks and wallets may charge their own fees, and Tickmill reserves the right to charge an inactivity fee without giving the amount.

Copy trading

Tickmill Social Trading lets a follower register an MT4 or MT5 login and copy other accounts. Copying is free; strategy providers may charge a performance fee on profits capped at 50%. The difference from following a Telegram channel with a copier is who decides: the provider trades and you mirror, while a channel posts entry, stop and targets in advance and the copier places them at your lot size.

What Tickmill does not publish

The year it was founded (the footer says 2015 to 2026); a head office; typical spreads in static text; the swap-free fee amounts; the inactivity fee amount; South African leverage. Gaps, not red flags; a demo and one support ticket close them.

Who Tickmill suits, from the terms alone

  • A trader who wants Raw pricing at $6 round turn with a $100 start on MT4 or MT5, gold included.
  • A UK or EU client who wants a named regulated entity with compensation cover stated.
  • A swap-free trader who holds gold under 41 days, on the Classic terms as written.

Who it suits less: anyone in the United States, Singapore, India or Japan, excluded by name; an MT4 user who needs leverage above 1:500; and anyone who wants the swap-free fee printed before asking.
