Why a signal service posts nothing on some days

No forex today" is a message our members see a few times a month. Here is what happened on those days, why posting a bad entry is worse than posting nothing, and why gold often still trades.

A few times a month the VIP channel gets a short message: no forex today. Every time, someone new asks if something is wrong. Nothing is wrong. This is the part of the job that doesn't look like work.

What actually happened on a "no forex" day

Almost always it is the same story. The dollar moved early, usually in the Asian session or in the first hour of London, and it moved far enough that the levels we were watching are already behind price.

Our entries are built around a level and a stop that sits on the other side of something real: a session high or low, a swing, a round number that has held. When the move happens before London opens, one of two things is true by the time we would normally post:

  • The entry is already gone and chasing it puts the stop in open air, with nothing behind it.
  • The stop would have to sit inside the range price is now building, which means it gets hit by noise before the trade has a chance.

Either way the trade we would post is not the trade we planned. So we post nothing.

Why not post it anyway

Because the record is public and every trade on it is scored, losses included. A signal posted so that the channel "has something" is a trade we would not take with our own money, and it goes on the results page with the same weight as every good one.

There is also a member cost that doesn't show on any card. A bad entry with a wide stop on a day the dollar is already trending is exactly the kind of trade that gets a new member to size up after two wins and then lose a week in one afternoon. The cheapest thing we can do for that member is not give them the trade.

Gold usually still gives the trade

On most of these days you will see a gold signal and no forex. Gold moves on its own clock. A dollar move that ruins EUR/USD and GBP/USD levels often gives gold a clean pullback into a level we were already watching, and gold's daily range is large enough that the stop still has room behind it.

That is why the message says "no forex" and not "no signals". Gold is checked separately, and it is posted when the level is there.

What to do with the day

Nothing. That is the honest answer. A day with no signal costs you nothing. The trades that hurt members are almost never the ones we posted; they are the ones members took on their own on a quiet day because the channel was quiet.

If you run the copier, it simply has nothing to place and waits. If you trade the signals by hand, close the app. The levels will be there tomorrow or they won't, and either way there will be a message.

How often this happens

It varies with the month. A calm month might have one or two. A month with a central bank decision every week and a dollar that trends from the open can have five or six. The count is not a target in either direction; the only thing we are trying to keep constant is the quality of the entry that does get posted.

See the signals before you pay for anything

Every closed VIP signal is on the results page with its entry, stop, targets and outcome, losses included. The free channel posts a selection each week.
